Welcome to MsMoneyGirl.net.  This is a quick tutorial on how to implement a Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 Migration.  Website owners that are not interested in performing the task due to lack of skills or time may use this link to have me perform the Joomla 1.0 to 1.5 Migration for you .  The task should take an hour to complete.

How to Migrate Joomla 1.0 to 1.5

The migration can be completed easily with the MTWMigrator Component. After downloading the component, it should be uploaded to your new Joomla 1.5 site.  To configure the component you'll need to have your database information to your old Joomla 1.0 site handy.  This is to include the database host, name, user, and password.  Click "Components" then "mtwmigrator" after logging into the backend of your site to enter the database information.  Please remember that you are adding the database information to your old site, and not the new.  The last step would be to start the migration by using the start migration link.

Need to rent a coding expert? As an alternative, this can be acheived using the com_migrator component.  This component should be uploaded to the old  Joomla 1.0 site.  Click "Components" to use the migrator.  You'll be using it to create a dump, then download the export file.

The migration will occur during the Joomla 1.5 installation in step 6 in the configuration.  So if you've already installed Joomla 1.5, you'll need to re-install it to include the migration.  During step 6, you'll need to select the 'Load Migration Script' option, enter jos_ for the table prefix, and use the browse button to upload your export file.  Click "Upload and Execute". This should give you a successful migration.  Note:  Use the username and password for the old Joomla 1.0 to log in to the new Joomla 1.5.
