One of my clients needed me to create a contact form for a website that currently uses Joomla as a CMS system. The default contacts component that comes initially with Joomla would work, but its not very user friendly when it comes to customizing the fields. I ran into the ChronoForms component plugin , and was confident that it would accomplish the goal. Its turns out the the developer too had clients who were always wanting some type of form created. Download ChronoForms here.
Creating the Form If you choose to use ChronoForm, you'll have to create a form on your own, or use an already made free html form code. A HTML editor is what you'll need to do so. One the best editors is Adobe Dreamweaver, so I've written How to Create Forms In Dreamweaver for anyone needing assistance. Inserting the Dreamweaver Form Code We still need a form on our joomla site, so take the code you generated in Joomla and insert it into the ChronoForm Component. Goto Components > Chrono Forms > Forms Management > then click New. Now you'll maneuver to the "Form Code" tab, then click [+/-] on Form HTML. Finally paste the Dreamweaver Form Code into your Joomla site! Creating Addittional Forms I really lucked out, because the client's site was already using the ChronoForms plugin. Actually, there was form already set up and in use, so my part was very very easy, as I simply copied the existing Contact Us ChronoForm using the "Copy form" icon. Then, I clicked upon the "Form Code" tab within the ChornoForm component to add additional form fields, and my project was complete!
