  • Spider [Picture Clusters]
    spider

This seems to be the most common spider I've seen in different locations these days. Even saw one being posted (same country as mine, but in a different place) just recently. I have to admire the way these spiders seem to be able to multiply even with most of the population (people) not caring a fig about them.

I guess it's more or less the same with cockroaches, huh?! LOL. But somehow the cockroaches are not as interesting for me, though, compared to the spiders and their diversity. :)

  • 40th Birthday gift... [My 3 Day Walk Training]
I have yet to get Sean a gift for his 40th Birthday and it was just this past Tuesday, March 11th. Being he's away at work for the next 3 weeks and has been for the past 3, I haven't had to buy it yet - I've got some time. What do you get a 40 year old? I was thinking of some gag gifts but I'd like to get him something special too. Maybe a new watch? A really good one too like one of the AP offshore ones I was looking at earlier. Or, maybe I can get my parents to watch the kids for us for a weekend and we could go away for the weekend - just the two of us. Even if it was just to the beach in Clearwater or something like that. Knowing him - he'd like that gift better then anything material. I know the kids still want to get him something though. Now, that one needs some thought.

  • Musically inclined ...? [Picture Clusters]
When we were young, my parents were the type that wanted their kids to learn the piano. Admittedly, I was not one of the happy ones. lol. Most of my sisters (even our youngest) had the knack in play the piano effortlessly, but I always had such a hard time playing good music. Sure, I remembered and managed to memorize the pieces that were assigned to me, but somehow it just didn't sound special. For me, at least. Or maybe I just didn't have the right 'feelings' for the instrument. I liked listening to my sisters play, though, and really so proud of them. They even got awards for their efforts and I was really proud to be associated with them those times! Sometimes people wanted me to play for them, but since I have stopped practicing for years now, I don't know if I can still play at least a single piece!

Hubby, too, was taught how to play the piano (and he loved it!), so every time we visit my mother-in-law's place he always manages to play the piano. I do a bit of tinkering, but not too much, lol. It's fun, but I must admit, not really me. My son does a bit of dabbling, too, but he prefers not to take piano lessons; he'd rather take taekwondo lessons! He does play a certain instrument, though, which we call anklung. It's a musical instrument made from bamboo. :)

Our piano got destroyed during a very serious flooding in our city, and since our youngest sister loved to play the piano, they decided to buy something similar, like the portable keyboards found in the malls (or you can find some online, too, like at ThePianoManInc.com). At first she didn't like it since of course it was actually different from a 'true' piano. Eventually, though, she agreed since she really needed to practice for her lessons. She never regretted that decision and until now she still uses the original portable keyboard that they bought! It's so wonderful listening to her play it everytime we go back home for a visit! :)

  • Cool comment... [My 3 Day Walk Training]
I received a really cool comment the other day under my Pink Ribbon soaps post and wanted to thank the commenter for it. I tried following your blogger profile to say hello back but it says it's not public. Good luck with the 3 Day! It's an awesome experience and I promise you'll meet some great women along your journey! If you remember, come back when it's and let me know how it was!

  • The man is delusional [Reformed Chicks Blabbing]
He needs to get out of the White House more. Didn't he notice that we just lost Hastert? Hasn't he been paying attention to the reports of the messiah's following? How about the much higher voter turnouts for the Democrats?...

  • Toddler Empathy [Mama Saga]
We had a fabulous day today. First we went to a "Soccer Tots" demo. We've been joking all week about what a 1-3 year old soccer clinic looks like. We imaged half the kids sitting on the floor, a quarter of the kids crying, and a quarter accidentally kicking each other. Despite my high expectations for humor value and low expectations for organization, the class was actually quite fun for the kids involved. Baby LOVES kicking the ball around so I was hoping it would be a big hit. She's been getting better and better at being around new people and today she participated like a champ. A little boy her age wanted to share with her which is just about the cutest thing, but Baby isn't quite at that stage yet. I was very proud, though,...

If you are not reading this on my blog, please visit and comment there to give the illusion I have cyber friends.

Based on our Rookie Sports Card Birthday Invitation design, this basketball themed invitation was custom colored to match this little boy’s favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. The front features his name, a color photo of the almost 1 year old, and a custom phrase (”Rookie of the Year”). The back announces that “Our [...]

  • On planning ... [Picture Clusters]
Tomorrow, a Saturday, my family and I have already planned half of the day. Or maybe it's just me who did the planning. lol. Usually I want things to be planned before starting things out, but I do know that sometimes our plans don't go the way we want them to; there are always glitches. (Like my plan to give myself a digital camera last December! lol. It's still in the plan and I'm slowly working at it...)

At first I really got so angry when things don't go as planned, but as the years passed by I have really realized that things, however meticulously planned, don't always turn out the way we want them to ... i have realized that everything happens for a reason and in the long run it might be the right one for you! :)

  • GPS tracking [Picture Clusters]
With the start of emerging newer and bolder technologies, it is indeed a good idea to use them whenever they are applicable and if you can afford them. Take for example GPS Tracking. For some it might not be that important, but if you view the video below it is certainly helpful.

Some GPS tracking devices are so small that they can be easily concealed. It can then be placed inside a car (or whatever your valuables are) without being observed; and since it's magnet is so powerful, placing it under the car is possible, and it wouldn't matter if it gets wet since it is water resistant. What's really great about some of these tracking devices is that they are so easy to use, and they are even Google Earth compatible! Really neat, huh?

But do you know that you can also use them for tracking your teen's driving habits? Yes, that's definitely a good idea, specially if you are concerned about how or where your teenager hangs out. Not only that, it can also monitor the speed, location, time, and time duration the device remains stationary. Definitely a good way to monitor your teen's driving behavior without you being inside the car! :)

  • What is Computer Forensic? [Picture Clusters]
Would you believe there was a time when I was hesitant in using the computer since I didn't have any idea what and how to operate it? It sounds unbelievable to some kids but the computers those days were not exactly customer-friendly. But I had to learn, since I had to make some term papers during college. The first time those internet cafes boomed near the university was the time when term papers and thesis papers were almost due! The traffic inside the shops then was so great and people had to cue for their turn; there were times when the owner had to extend their working time since there were just too many students needing to use the computer! And would you believe there wasn't even internet connection at that time?! We've come a long way, since then. :)

These days the computers are really so computer friendly that you can even personalize your own computers! And they are also relatively cheaper and more accessible these days, too! I guess that's why there are more persons who have their own computers and rely heavily on them. Some personal and important data may be stored in them, too! And that's where a computer forensic might be a big help!

Computer Forensics is actually the retrieval of data stored in your computer which may be used as evidence in a court of law. Yes, that's possible now these days, but I believe totally unheard of during the earlier days of the computer. If you believe that you need their services, then I suggest you visit DataChasers.com and see how they may be able to give you a solution to your situation!

  • It just fell off! [Picture Clusters]
Something great happened today: my son managed to 'take out' his baby tooth himself! Nope, nothing drastic like using pliers or something like that. lol. It was really already wobbly last week and in fact, when we visited the dentist last week I suggested that they remove the tooth, but he said, "no."

So, the dentist said it's ok, it will just fall off by itself. And that's what exactly happened! :)

  • Mememememe ;) [A Bend in the Road]
Well to go with a couple of me me me me memes I thought I'd post a picture of me...minus head. Lol I asked Chatterbox to take a picture of me wearing a new blouse (from the bag of clothes my Mum's neighbour gave me) and she cut my head off in all the photos, all you could see was my chin. I thought it looked weird, so I cut a bit more off the photo, hence the white :) Good try! But isn't it a nice blouse?

Brandy asked me to do this 8 new things about me meme. Here are the rules. In the 8 facts about yourself, you share 8 things that your readers don?t know about you. Then at the end you tag at least 8 other bloggers to keep the fun going.

    1. I'm 5 ft 8.

    2. I can't drink thick liquids...milkshakes, soups, smoothies...I can eat them with a spoon, but I can't drink them

    3. I hate tea or coffee with milk...well I'm off coffee completely.

    4. When I'm depressed, or ill, or scared, or sad I go to bed...it's my safety zone :)

    5. My church has had the same Pastor for more than 35 years; he's a wonderful man.

    6. I've always been slim, I wish I had more curves to be honest :) In fact I border on too skinny sometimes. For some reason people think it is OK to tell me to eat more or to go on about how skinny I am (in a negative way) but if I were to suggest they should ate less or went on about how plump they were (which I would never do!) they would be offended. It drives me mad. I just grimace smile and walk away. I eat plenty...I just have high metabolism or something.

    7. If I could run my own business I'd like to run a cattery...you know where owners leave their cats with you while they go on holiday or move house, etc.

    8. I just burnt my face opening the oven just then...arghhh. (My new cooker - yey!) Oh my I can hardly see...lol.

OK I have to tag 8 people. Deby, Donna, Mimi, Jodi, Rhonda, Mrs C, Connie, Joni

If you don't like doing memes, don't worry I won't be offended if you don't do it. Just let me know if you decide to do one :)

Check out the testimony meme in the post below; I've put it in a separate post because Jennifer wants to link to people's testimonies.

    Hugs.

  • Emergency Cases [Picture Clusters]
I believe that a person's life is really important, and that's why I think it's really great that somebody thought of putting up an air ambulance. There was a time when my mom's life was critical and the doctors at our local hospital was baffled with her condition. She seemed to be slipping real fast and so they were thinking of airlifting her to another hospital which they believed was more equipped to treat her. They even thought of airlifting her internationally! My mom disagreed, though, so they couldn't push through with the plan. Eventually, my mom did get well and a year later she's now almost back to her usual self.

In places where air ambulance is available, patients who need emergency care (or needed surgery but the place is quite far) are given the immediate treatment that they require. That's really important, specially if time is crucial. They needed to be transported immediately, like in trauma cases, or maybe if a person got bitten by a snake and needed anti-venom immediately (which was available only at a certain hospital). There could be plenty of reasons why air ambulance is crucial and I am really glad that they are now available these days! :)

  • My Testimony meme [A Bend in the Road]
Jennifer has tagged me to do this testimony meme.

    1. When did you become a Christian?

Like Jennifer there has never been a time that I didn't believe in God...as far as I remember. My Mum became a born-again Christian when I was 4, prior to that she'd been a church goer and even a Sunday School teacher, but she'd never truly given her life to the Lord.

I repented and gave my life to the Lord at about 11 or 12...twice, lol, I wanted to be sure. But I didn't feel any different. The scriptures still felt dry and dusty and church was still a tad dull for me. But I wanted Him, I wanted Jesus in my life.

I had a life changing experience when I was 19 in Venice when interrailing around Europe with a rather strange Catholic girl. She told me that because I am not Catholic that I was going to hell. I was shocked. I rebutted her immediately. [I believe that everyone who truly calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. We are not saved because we are baptised into a certain denomination, we are not saved by good works, we are not saved because we participate in holy communion or because we go to church, we are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ who died for us, through repentence and confession of our faith in Christ Jesus.] I also told her off for continually blaspheming Jesus' name. Lol, well that really gave her the hump and she spent the rest of the trip trying to ditch me. Italy is very scary for a woman on her own...the men are so forward!

Following these incidents I entered a small chapel. I was contemplating a crucifix whilst my 'friend' did all the strange statue kissing and holy water dipping that she seemed to enjoy. Suddenly I was flooded with the love of Jesus. By this I mean I suddenly understood that He loved me deep in my heart, it was amazing, the most wonderful experience. The Holy Spirit changed my life deep down. It was as if Jesus became real in my heart, rather than being an outside figure that I admired.

After this the scriptures came to life before my eyes. I remember the first thing I realised was the exodus out of Egypt was all about Jesus!! The passover was all about Jesus!! It was like a great huge heavenly penny had dropped :)

    2. Was there anyone instrumental in your decision to be a Christian?

My Mum mainly, if it wasn't for my Mum I wouldn't have gone to church, I wouldn't have heard the preaching, my heart wouldn't have been softened to God's Word. Also my church of course.

    3. Were there any difficulties to overcome in your early walk with God?

Oh my yes! I carried on at university and slowly lost it. I couldn't find a church I liked while I was away from home, I didn't read my Bible, I didn't find any other believers to fellowship with. By my third year I had really lost the plot, I backslid. I am so ashamed of those days because they happened after I became a true Christian. But I have repented to the Lord, confessed all to a dear sister from church, changed my ways. The Lord really brought me back to Him fully in 1996, but that's a whole other story. I would never do any of these things again, ever.

    4. How did your life change after committing yourself to Christ?

Well for weeks I felt I was walking on golden light...it's the only way to describe the feeling. Rejoicing. Bible study came to life, the preaching at church was like water to my soul. As I have already said I completely lost it for about 2 years though. God accepted me back...like that prodigal son...though I didn't deserve it.

    5. Do you have a favorite Bible verse?

No. I don't have a 'life verse'. I think that we should pray to be changed and moved by all the scriptures...the Word of God for our lives cannot be condensed to a single verse. Having said that, there are some scriptures that come to mind right now that I know really speak to me.

I cannot read the story of Jesus meeting with Mary after His resurrection without weeping...when she says "Rabboni!" oh so moving. I can imagine how she felt.

I want to shout for joy when Jesus cries "It is finished!"...and when the temple curtain is torn in two!! Praise my Saviour! He conquered death and evil.

Isaiah 52-53 have always moved me, I used to have that on my notice board at work.

Isaiah 30 convicts me because I know that even as a Christian I have turned back to Egypt too many times.

In fact Isaiah is a book I turn to a lot.

    Revelation 21 - 22 amazing, just amazing.

    1 John.

The whole Bible. You know I don't think we realise what a treasure God has given us with the Bible.

    6. What does it mean for you today to be a Christian?

It's my life. I wouldn't want to live if I didn't have Jesus Christ, what would be the point? To know that I am loved by my Lord no matter what, to know that I have a place in Heaven though I certainly don't deserve it, to know that my Lord and King humbled Himself and was imprisoned, whipped, beaten, spat upon, mocked and cruicified taking the punishment I deserved for my wicked sinful life is just too wonderous and humbling to even fully understand. Jesus' bodily resurrection and ascension into Heaven taking His rightful place in glory fills me with joy.

I know that when I stand before God on judgement day though I will be ashamed of my life I will be accepted because of Jesus. And I don't deserve it. To know that the God of the whole universe actually knows my name!! Why? Why would he even consider me?

    7. Any last words?

Firstly, if you don't know Jesus, get to know Him. You think your life is great? You think you're having fun? Well we are only on this earth for a short time, eternity is a very long time and there is no way into Heaven except through Jesus Christ. Repent of your sins...that means be very very sorry for your life and commit yourself to change...don't worry He will give you His Holy Spirit to help you. Also, if you think your life is great now, if you become a Christian and you look back...you'll realise it wasn't that great (in fact you'll probably cringe).

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9

I would also ask everyone who claims to be a Christian who is reading this to take a reality check, have you truly repented of your sins?...not just confessed specific sins that you are aware of but your whole life. Before we are Christians our lives are led totally by the flesh. Repentence must be total and true. We must be born-again because the flesh cannot enter heaven, we must be born-again by the Spirit of God. Have we yielded our whole life to Jesus, not just Sunday mornings...every second of our life. If not, we need to do this everyday.

Also, because I have experienced horrible back sliding, I would advise this:

    • Get to church regularly, a good Bible believing church who show the love of God and seek to live in accordance with the Holy Spirit;
    • Fellowship with other believers;
    • Don't mix with the wrong crowd, by all means spend time with unbelievers for the sake of their souls but don't be as they are;
    • Read the Bible regularly, deeply...a good version, paraphrases are OK but read a proper decent translation, the Bible is the Word of God and a paraphrase is just someone's opinion of what He was saying...read what He actually said;
    • Pray, pray, pray...search your heart, ask God to search your heart, pray constantly for a changed life to be more like Jesus;
    • Don't be ashamed of your faith, share it in the way that God leads you to;
    • Most of all love God and love everyone else...

I am not suggesting I'm perfect, by any means, it's just I've fallen away big style in the past and I know if I had been doing all these things I wouldn't have fallen away.

    Hugs and blessings.

  • Brendan Cole - Notorious [New Zealand Reality TV]
    Brendan Cole
Brendan Cole, villain of the UK?s Strictly Come Dancing, serial womaniser, scourge of judges, arrogant alpha male.

It?s one hell of a reputation. But is it deserved?

Brendan was unknown until the resurrection of Strictly Come Dancing in 2004. Since then he has shimmied, charmed and tantrumed his way into the public consciousness. However, feelings about him remain mixed, with the tabloid press eager to present the ?bad boy? persona and the SCD judges quick to make cutting comments about him to anyone who controls a printer. Even the normally kindly Bruno Tonioli has stooped to the odd swipe at Brendan?s personal life. His fans feel he is seriously misunderstood, pointing out that those who know him well speak of an entirely different person. So what?s the truth?

Well there?s an old biblical saying, which in a nutshell says look at your own life before you condemn others. So with that in mind, what has Brendan done that separates him from others and makes him so terrible?

    Natasha Kaplinsky, Brendan Cole
His first ?sin? was the ending of his relationship with Camilla Dallerup. This is presented in the UK press as the result of an affair with a certain UK newsreader. But is it the truth? Both Brendan and Natasha Kaplinsky have repeatedly denied any emotion other than on floor chemistry. Camilla herself has never actually claimed an affair occurred though she does cite Natasha coming into their lives as one reason for their break-up.

    Brendan Cole, Camilla Dallerup
If actions speak louder then consider that Camilla remains a close friend of Brendan?s and he is also friends with her current boyfriend (Would you do that with a guy who cheated on you?). He still speaks of her with great affection. Could it simply be that after meeting as teenagers they grew apart and an attractive person at ?work? was the catalyst that sparked the end? Can you honestly say you have never flirted with a work colleague? It doesn?t make for exciting headlines, but it?s a story that occurs in non-celeb life many times.

Secondly he is a vocal critic of the judges on SCD. I have rarely noticed personal digs other than the occasional aside about Craig RH being camp (rude but unlikely to make Mr RH too upset). However, he does frequently take them to task perhaps somewhat bluntly over their judgments, especially if he feels they are unfair. He has unselfishly done so in defence of others rather than himself. This does make for glorious TV and is reminiscent of the playground in a very enjoyable way. I would have assumed that this was part of the show if it was not for the catty comments that they return, usually behind his back.

    Brendan Cole, Camilla Dallerup
So far he has been called amongst other things, an arsehole, a slimeball and the old chestnut, womaniser. Mocking remarks about the demise of his relationship with Camilla, his failure to meet another partner and his appearances on dubious reality TV shows also abound. Recently he has been holding his temper and attempting explanations rather than tantrums. However this hasn?t stopped the bitchiness at the judges? table. Saucers of milk all round.

He is also described as arrogant. Well this is one I can understand. He does appear to be pretty opinionated when it comes to his dancing or judging on DWTS or SCD. But he?s a pretty good dancer who?s been in the business since aged 6. When is comes to other subjects, confidence is less apparent and he can come across as nervous and unsure. He?s fairly quick to offer his thoughts on others and this is something he could do with curtailing. Let us remember however the man is barely past thirty. It takes a while to learn diplomacy. Mr RH is 12 years older and still struggling.

So our last accusation, womanising. The male equivalent of being called a slut. He claims this is vastly overstated. Let?s have a look at the facts. He was in a relationship from age 19 ?28 (the time most young men are acting like rabbits) with one woman that they both describe as very happy and they remain friends. For the last 3 years he?s been single other than a couple of flings. He?s a young man with a shed load of testosterone in his system if his muscles provide any measure. What the heck do you expect?

In conclusion, I am not convinced of the prosecution?s case.
    • Claudia Winkleman, UK TV presenter, recently described him like this, ?I love Brendan. If I needed a Lemsip at 4 a.m. he?d bring me one?.
    • His last girlfriend, Adele Silva from UK soapie Emmerdale said, ?Brendan treated me like a princess. I haven?t a bad word to say about him?. She also said he had an amazing body. Well anyone who reads Cosmopolitan knows that!.
    • Gethin Jones who partnered Camilla in the last SCD, ?I speak as I find and I find Brendan to be helpful and pleasant. He even helps me with some of my moves?.
    • Kelly Brook, ?Brendan?s a lot more vulnerable than he lets on?

So perhaps he?s highly strung and needs to shut his mouth quicker than currently. But signs indicate he?s learning this, albeit slowly. Does this make him an arsehole? Underneath the alpha male exterior, there are glimpses of a sweet guy who (in the author?s humble opinion) is just in need of a good woman to keep him happy. I hope he finds her.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

  • Craig Revel-Horwood vs Brendan Cole Round 2 [New Zealand Reality TV]
    Tina Cross, Aaron Gilmore
Ding! Ding! Round 2 of the ongoing battle between Dancing with the Stars judges Brendan Cole and Craig Revel-Horwood continued in this week?s third episode.

Not only do the pair frequently disagree with each other but they make such a song and dance over the whole thing. They both have a habit of prefacing all their comments with, ?I disagree with? [insert Craig or Brendan]? although the habit is more pronounced in Craig. Is it not possible for them to comment without drawing attention to the fact that they disagree with each other? And, why does Brendan appear to have it in for Tina Cross? Greer Robson speculates that it has something to do with the personal history between Aaron Gilmore and Brendan. Aaron used to partner Brendan?s sister Vanessa Cole in competitive dancing when he lived in Australia.

The most recent argument broke out during the third episode when the judges critiqued Tina Cross doing the Jive with Aaron. Brendan bagged the performance saying it was stiff, hard and frantic and didn?t have the jive essence. Later, Craig said Brendan was wrong; Brendan interrupted and spoke over the top of Craig, who told him to ?shut it?.
CRH: I think Brendan is speaking a load of rubbish, to be honest. [Doesn?t he always?]

BC: Is that from your technical background? [Ooh, sarcasm]

CRH: You?ve had your turn Brendan. You can just shut it for a moment. [That's just rude.]

BC: Please, darling. [More sarcasm, although this one made Miss Prozac chuckle]

CRH: It had all three fantastic elements ? performance, technique and a great partnership. [Very certain he?s right, as always]

BC: Once again Craig shows his lack of technical understanding. [Sulking now]

The resulting scores for the performance were Brendan 5, Alison 8, Craig 9, Paul 9 so Brendan was clearly the dissenting vote on this occasion. He was also somewhat sarcastic with his ?Please, darling? mimicking Craig?s appalling habit of saying darling, and the once again?

Looking at the other Jives of the evening, Brendan gave a score of 7 to Monty Betham, 8 to Temepara George, and 5 to Cory Hutchings. The latter was the only performance on which the pair agreed with Brendan saying, ?I can?t believe I?m saying this, but Craig was right, it was a bit rough.?

There is simply no way that Tina?s Jive should be awarded the same low score as Cory's. Surfing Dude Cory looked cute, and he appeared to be enjoying his routine more than Tina. He deserves points for that, as he made an emotional connection with the audience and a lust connection with Miss Prozac, but his timing was out and the technique was mediocre.

    Verdict:
In Round 1 it was a narrow victory to Craig. We were hoping Brendan would come back strongly in Round 2 but it didn?t happen. Craig provoked him by saying he was speaking "a load of rubbish" and Brendan rose to the bait. Why can't Craig disagree nicely, like Paul Mercurio does? Craig won by default, despite his rudeness.

We agree with Brendan that Tina needed to loosen up in her Jive. Brendan?s a Latin American specialist and we usually agree with his comments, but you can?t go talking over the top of your other judges. We?re also concerned he?s so harsh on Tina.

Another victory to Craig bringing the score to 2-Nil

  • Jodie Foster Opens Up to Parade Magazine [7Confessions]
Actress and mom Jodie Foster opens up about her childhood influences, how she almost quit acting and what she wants most for her children. Below, the actress talks more about her early acting career and raising her two children.

On Her Early Sense of Responsibility
"I ask myself, 'What did I miss?'" I had my little rebellions, but they were minimal. So I ask, 'Why didn't I rebel more?' Then I remember ? because I was responsible for someone else. That's why I couldn't rebel. That's why I couldn't get lost for days on end. I always had to work."
On How Taxi Driver Changed Her Career
"Before that, somebody would say, 'OK, here are your lines. You go here and do this and that. Just try to make it as natural as possible. With Taxi Driver, I had this eureka moment. I realized that acting could be much more than what I had been doing. I had to build a character that wasn't me."

On Her Childhood Attitude Toward Acting
"To me, acting didn't seem like much of a profession. My mom always said, 'By the time you're 16, your career will be over. So what do you want to do then?' She was correct. Most child actors' careers end early. They're lost."

    On Life After College
"I saw leaving college as an opportunity to do something different with my life. I always thought that becoming an academic was going to be my path. I could've gone to New York, but I went back to Los Angeles because it was where I was from."

On What She Looks for in a Movie
"I make dark dramas, movies about people living in desperate fear who then overcome that fear and find a heroic side to themselves."

    One Raising Her Children
"Boys are easy. I mean, there are just a lot of bruises when they're young. With boys, you get a lot of accidental jabs in the eye and stepping on your feet, and those tantrums they cause when they don't want to leave the toy store."
"But my boys are getting older now. They go to school all day, and then one wants to do T-ball and the other wants to do karate, so they're actually gone until four-thirty. I want them to have curiosity about things they don?t know, and a desire to see places bigger than where they grew up."

  • Eddie Murphy Admits He is an Idiot [7Confessions]
Yeah Eddie Murphy is soo stupid that besides not wanting to give his name to his daughter Angel and taking things to court, now he comes to says he was tricked by Mel B.
Eddie Murphy has revealed the real reason he doesn't want to have anything to do with his 11-month-old daughter Angel because he believes she trapped him into having a baby.
I would sue is a$ for saying something like that. This just how low Eddie can be? a REAL MAN even if he was tricked, he would have the decency to know a poor baby can?t pay for her mom?s possible mistakes!
A source said: "He [Eddie] says he will have to wait until Angel is older before he can get to know her without any interference from her mother.
The Nutty Professor star claimed 32-year-old Mel insisted she was on birth control, and revealed they only had sex three times.
"What was supposed to be a casual relationship ended with her having his baby and taking him to court for millions." ? Conclusion: Eddie is an Idiot!

  • Been on Your Knee's Lately [.]
If there is any opportunity for you to study "Living Beyond Yourself" (Fruit of the Spirit) by Beth Moore take it!! We only have two more weeks for this study. This weeks homework is on Gentleness.

Last night Beth spoke on Faith and again what a message. I wanted to share two things with you, one funny and one about prayer.

Beth Moore always has great hair. I know she puts in a lot of work daily to have great hair. She comments frequently about her hair and last night did not disappoint. She was unable to take a shower and do her hair before the study and this is what she said "TODAY is NOT the day for yesterday's hair!" Isn't this a great line? I believe this with all my heart!!!! :-)

She was teaching on Faith last night. She was sharing about Daniel as he prayed daily three times as he looked out the upstairs window towards Jerusalem. She wondered if window in Hebrew meant anything in particular. It was just window... But when we get down on our knee's and pray like Daniel our prayers cut a window in the wall! Our prayers cut the hole in the wall to make a window, a visual aide to know our prayers are being received by the Lord. The brilliance of the sun shining through the window, warming us and giving us a focus to kneel down and give thanks to the Lord.

Take what's on our hearts and renew our minds so that we can walk in Victory!

  • A Watched Pot Never Boils [Ramblings From Life]
Or in this case a watched phone never rings.

I have been keeping quiet on something pretty big the past few weeks. For those who are new to my blog, when I am not playing stay-at-home-mommy to my 3 kids I am a freelance writer/public relations consultant. I have been struggling the past few months with what I will do when my youngest starts kindy in the fall. Then out of nowhere this amazing opportunity came up.

So for the past two weeks I have been through two interviews and a writing/research assessment for a 15 - 20 hours per week marketing/pr project that has the potential to become practically full-time within the next 6 months. The biggest kicker of it all, the job is completely from home. Just like I am doing now. I will also still be able to keep and work with my existing clients.

I have been told that it has been narrowed down between myself and another woman. I received a call yesterday on my voice mail saying that the final assessments and recommendations have been given to the President and he will be making a decision today or tomorrow.

This would be perfect on so many levels.
    • It would allow me to not have to go find more clients because between this on-going project and the existing ones I would have plenty to do and still be able to have the flexibility to play SAHM to the kids.
    • It would be a steady income per week rather than the sporadic project work I do now.
    • It is totally flexible. I can do whatever I need to do to get my projects done. So basically it will be the exact same as what I do now.
    • The work sounds awesome. It would be exactly the same stuff I do now but for a completely different industry. Plus I would get to work with more web work than I do now.
    • The person I would be working with sounds awesome. And she works from home as well so she understands the issues that come up with trying to work from home. In fact everyone I have spoken with sounds pretty cool.
    • Timing wise I feel like this may be what I am supposed to do. I post about my dilemmas and this falls into my lap. A sign? Maybe... I sure hope so.
I wasn't going to say anything. I hate rejection and even more so I hate knowing that people know I have been rejected. But I have decided that I need all the good thoughts I can get.

So fingers crossed that I receive a good call today or tomorrow. If not, well then I guess it is back to figuring out what to do when Sam goes to kindy. (It would be to your benefit that I get a good call, otherwise there will be lots of beating a dead horse entries. LOL)
