The Bishop states, "And in many states, once you marry someone, their debt is your debt!" We'll I don't know how fare that is, but its certainly true.
Most of the time, you are not held resposible for any debt accumulated before the marriage. It is the debt built up during the marriage that you are more than likely to be accountable for. How do I know?
Its because I searched "debt and marriage" in addittion to reading it in this "Before You Do Book" and found an Associate Content article entitled, "Marriage and Debt: Is My Spouse Responsible for My Debt?" by Steve Martin. (By the way I have Associated Content, see it here.)
This calls for a list of credit check and debt organizations :-) Prayerfully, the singles reading this will be matched with a debt free other half. But just in case, here's a list of credit and debt resources.
In the name of due diligence, I believe that people should master their credit problems as an individual before attempting to do it as a couple. My man has good credit standing with healthy and little debt, or no debt at all -:) Okay, there goes one of my desires as a single lady.
